Always rest ego in the pouch of sense to feel fragrance of friendship. Always respect better half as nothing in nature overrides other than humans. Always see face of God in Orphans to care them as God cares us. Always feed flabbergasted beings for we have conquered their world of food. Always accolade act of sustenance for your posterity to pursue the same. Always sing the song of peace to clog the thoughts of communalist deeds. വാലെന്റൈൻസ് ഡേ എന്നു കേൾക്കുമ്പോഴൊക്കെ മനസിലേക്ക് ആദ്യം വന്നിരുന്നത് വാലെന്റൈന വ്ളാദിമിറോവ്ന തെരഷ്കോവ എന്ന പേരാണ്‌. ആദ്യമായി ബഹിരാകാശ സഞ്ചാരം നടത്തിയ ആ റഷ്യാക്കാരിയെ, എന്റെ മനസിൽ തോന്നിയ ഏതു കുസൃതിയാണ്‌ വാലന്റൈൻസ് ഡേയുമായി ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നതെന്ന് എനിക്കു തീർച്ചയില്ല. പ്രൈമറി ക്ളാസുകളിൽ കാണാതെ പഠിച്ച, എനിക്ക് ഒരിക്കലും റൊമാന്റിക് ആയി തോന്നിയിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ആ പേരിലെ വാലന്റൈന എന്ന വാക്കായിരിക്കണം അതിനു കാരണം…!!

അന്നൊരു മോശം ദിവസമായിരുന്നു… പ്രതീക്ഷയ്ക്കു വകയുള്ള ഒരു മുഖവും കാണാത്ത, ഒരു വാക്കും കേൾക്കാത്ത സെയിൽസ് മനേജരുടെ ഒരു ദിവസത്തിന്റെ ഒടുവിൽ അയാൾ അങ്ങനെ ചിന്തിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിലേ അത്ഭുതം തോന്നേണ്ടതുള്ളൂ… പ്രതീക്ഷയോടെ വന്നു ചേർന്ന ചെന്നൈ നഗരത്തിൽ നിന്ന്, നിരാശയോടെ ഈ വൈകുന്നേരം ഞാൻ മടങ്ങുന്നു… റെയിൽവേ സ്റ്റേഷനിൽ നല്ല തിരക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നു… തലയിലും നൂറു ചിന്തകൾ തിരക്കു കൂട്ടുന്നു… വല്ലാത്ത ബഹളം… ഏതൊരു തിരക്കിൽ നിൽക്കുമ്പോഴും, ഏതർത്ഥത്തിലും ശുദ്ധവായു കിട്ടുന്ന ഒരിടം തേടുന്ന ഒരാളെ പോലെ ഞാനും ഇടം വലം നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു… അങ്ങനെ കണ്ണുകൾ ചുറ്റും പരതുമ്പോഴാണ്‌ അവൾ കൺമുന്നിലേക്ക് വരുന്നത്… മാന്യമായി വസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ച വെളുത്ത് സുന്ദരിയായ ഒരു പെൺകുട്ടി… ദുഖമോ, ആകുലതയോ കടിച്ചമർത്തുന്ന മുഖം… അവളും എന്നെ പോലെ ചുറ്റും നോക്കുന്നുണ്ട്…
